Phyllis, please make this into a letter, all nicely formatted, thanks!

Dear Prof.~Bruck, [R H Bruck, UW]

I'd like to quote the following from your paper in the 1956 PSAM,
in a book I'm writing about using computers to make drawings:

I might compare the high-speed computing machine
to a remarkably large and awkward pencil
which takes a long time to sharpen and
cannot be held in the fingers in the usual manner so that it
gives the illusion of responding to my thoughts,
but is fitted with a rather delicate engine
and will write like a mad thing
provided I am willing to let it dictate pretty much
the subjects on which it writes.

I've always thought your analogy was remarkably apt, and it is
especially so when I'm addressing graphic artists.

But of course I don't want to quote you without permission. So please let
me know if you have any objection.
